Feast of San Calogero

The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of San Calogero in Petralia Sottana followed the usual calendar, opening on June 11th with the sittina and concluding on June 18th with the solemn procession. The statue of the Saint, carried on the heavy vara by numerous devotees, crossed the historic center making the traditional eighteen stops, from the Mother Church Basilica to the Church of Saints John the Baptist and Calogero the Hermit.

As every year, the day was marked by the tolling of bells, the sound of firecrackers, the distribution of blessed votive bread, and the final fireworks display, confirming the strong bond of the community of Petralia Sottana, in the Madonie Park, with its patron saint.
