Feast of Saints Peter and Paul

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul in Petralia Soprana, in the province of Palermo, took place from June 25th to 29th, following the usual blend of devotion and popular celebration.

The evenings of June 25th and 26th opened with novenas in the Mother Church and candlelight processions with the smaller statues of the saints, accompanied by the "Verdi" Band and a concert by students from the local school. On June 27th, the welcoming of the sacred effigies from the hamlets was celebrated, with an evening mass in Piazza Duomo and a comedy show by "I 4 Gusti". The eve of June 28th featured the procession of the smaller statues, musical entertainment with "Song Sisters" and the Radio Italia Party, as well as a fireworks display.

On the day of the feast, June 29th, after the morning religious services, the solemn Holy Mass was accompanied by the singing of the "Petra Ensamble" Polyphonic Choir, directed by Maestro Cerami. In the afternoon, the grand procession crossed the village, followed by the performance of the Stendardieri Sopranesi in Piazza Duomo and, at midnight, the grand fireworks display in Contrada Pinta, managed by the "Pirolandia" company of Bagheria.
