Feast of Saints Nicandro and Sebastiano

The 2025 edition

The hamlet of Tremensuoli, in Minturno, celebrated the feast in honor of the martyr saints Nicandro and Sebastiano, patrons of the community, from August 4th to 13th, 2025. Ten days marked by celebrations in the 16th-century parish church and civil events in the square, following a calendar that the community has repeated for generations.

The Sunday of the procession

The heart of the feast fell on Sunday, August 10th, the second Sunday of the month as per centuries-old tradition. After the solemn mass, the 19th-century wooden statues of the saints were carried in procession through the village streets, on a route that climbs up to the Pastino, where the effigy of Saint Nicandro blesses the entire Scauri plain down to the sea from above. The day concluded in the evening with the fireworks display, the famous "San Nicandro fireworks," watched by the entire Gulf of Gaeta.

The civil events

Alongside the religious rites, the program offered concerts and evening shows in Piazza San Nicandro Martire, food stalls with traditional Minturno dishes, and community gatherings, with the festivities concluding on August 13th. In 2025, the feast once again attracted numerous emigrants who returned to the village for the occasion, confirming it as one of the most deeply felt identity-building events in the Municipality of Minturno, in the province of Latina.
