Feast of Saint Venera (Patron Saint of Avola)

The 2025 edition

The Feast of Saint Venera 2025 in Avola took place from July 21 to 28, as part of the Avola Summer calendar. The week offered a diverse program: Monday, July 21, featured the pop and opera music evening "Canto per passione" in Piazza Umberto I; in the following days, there were workshops for children at Avola Antica and Parco delle Rimembranze, the comedy show "Tantissimi me" with Leonardo Fiaschi, a live performance by Pino Di Stefano at the Stone Courtyard of the Town Hall, and book presentations and art exhibitions at the Garibaldi Municipal Theater.

Among the sporting events, the 71st Saint Venera Cup, a historic cycling race, stood out on Friday, July 25. Sunday, July 27, marked the religious highlight: the procession of the statue through the streets of the historic center with the Avola Town Band, lighting effects, and video mapping. The festival concluded on Monday, July 28, with a grand musical show by Eiffel 65, followed by a 90s dance party.
