Feast of Saint Philomena (Translation of the Relics and Procession of the Battenti)

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Feast of Saint Philomena took place in Mugnano del Cardinale, in the province of Avellino, from August 9th to 11th, with a liturgical extension on August 13th. As per tradition, the second Sunday of the month saw the arrival of the paranze of the Battenti and the solemn procession of the Miraculous Statue along the streets of the center.

On August 10th, the anniversary of the arrival of the relics from Rome in 1805, the Sanctuary welcomed thousands of pilgrims. On August 13th, the day of the liturgical memorial of the «Little Princess of Paradise», two solemn Masses were celebrated at 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM, presided over by the rector Father Giuseppe Autorino. Alongside the religious rites, there were also secular events in Piazza Umberto I, featuring live music and convivial moments for the Mugnano community.
