Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel was the most anticipated moment of the year for the community of San Michele di Ganzaria, in the province of Catania. Included in the 2025 Sammichelese Summer calendar, the patronal feast took place in early September, with the main Sunday dedicated to the peak of the festivities.

As per tradition, the week alternated religious rites in the Mother Church dedicated to the Archangel, folk and musical evenings in the square, and the traditional song festival. The most heartfelt moment was the solemn procession of the statue of Saint Michael, accompanied by the entire community along the village streets, before the closing entrusted to the customary fireworks.
