Feast of Saint Maurus the Abbot (July)

The 2025 edition of the summer feast of Saint Maurus the Abbot took place on July 21st in Aci Castello (Catania), confirming the attachment of the local community to its patron saint. The day renewed the traditional ritual: the unveiling and triumphant exit of the statue from the mother church, the procession of the float through the village streets, the evocative Angel's Descent at Piazzale Porta Messina, and the blessing of the sea at the Marina, with the fishermen as protagonists.

Closing the festivities, as per tradition, was the fireworks display over the sea, in front of the lava cliffs and the silhouette of the Norman castle.
