Leonessa 2025: four days for the Patron Saint

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Joseph of Leonessa took place from Thursday, September 11 to Sunday, September 14, in the historic center of the Rieti village. The liturgical calendar, hosted mainly in the Church of San Francesco, offered the Holy Rosary, Holy Mass, and the preparatory Triduum every afternoon from 5:00 PM.

On Sunday, September 14, the most solemn day, the Solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop of Rieti was held at 11:00 AM. At 5:00 PM, the procession through the streets of Leonessa began with the Relic of the Saint's Heart, followed by authorities and confraternities, with the presentation of the "Monti Frumentari" Prize and the final blessing.

The musical closing took place at 9:30 PM with the Orchestra Popolare del Saltarello, which arrived in Leonessa after their commitments at the "Notte dei Serpenti" and their summer tour with Max Gazzè, for an evening of traditional repertoire from Central Italy.
