Feast of Saint John the Baptist

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist took place in Villafranca Sicula (province of Agrigento) on June 24th, in accordance with the village's established tradition. The day revolved around the church dedicated to the Saint, with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated in the late afternoon and the subsequent procession of the statue through the village streets.

As every year, devotees enjoyed the sangiuvannuzzu, the typical Saint-shaped pastry glazed with sugar colored by mulberry juice, while the rigattiate and the evening fireworks display brought the festivities to a close. The Saint John the Baptist Association oversaw the organization, confirming the vitality of the local devotion to their patron saint.
