The 2025 patronal feast

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Donatus the Martyr brought Castel del Monte to life on August 6th and 7th, confirming the community's deep devotion to its patron saint. The solemn Mass in the Church of San Donato and the procession through the streets of the medieval village represented the religious heart of the event, attended with great participation by residents and visitors alike.

There was no shortage of festivities: evening musical performances with folk groups and local bands filled the town squares, while food stalls offered specialties of the L'Aquila Apennines, from arrosticini to mountain cheeses, in an atmosphere of authentic conviviality among the alleys suspended above Campo Imperatore.
