Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua reached its peak on June 13th, the liturgical date of the Saint. Religious celebrations began with a solemn mass in the church dedicated to Saint Anthony, followed by the procession of the statue through the streets of Poggiardo, accompanied by religious hymns and the participation of confraternities and the faithful.

Alongside the devotional dimension, the historic center was illuminated with artistic light displays and hosted brass band concerts and Salento folk music performances, featuring the rhythms of the pizzica. Food stalls offered local specialties—frise, panzerotti, pittule, and traditional sweets—while craft markets enlivened the promenade. At the end of the day, the traditional fireworks display lit up the sky of the town, in the heart of the Salento region.
