Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua (Montesardo)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua in Montesardo, a hamlet of Alessano (LE), followed the traditional calendar linked to the second Sunday of July. The heart of the festivities was the procession with the wooden statue of the Saint, carried on the shoulders of emigrants along the streets of the historic center, between Piazza Castello and Via Chiesa. The following day, the Saint Anthony Fair was held, with market stalls and typical products. The festival was accompanied by illuminations, live music in the square, and traditional fireworks over the village and its ancient keep, in an atmosphere of strong popular participation and devotion.
