Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle

In 2025, the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Gallipoli took place from November 28th to 30th, organized by the Venerable Confraternity of Santa Maria degli Angeli. The triduum of prayer prepared the community for the solemnity of the patron saint of fishermen.

On November 29th, the eve of the feast, after the evening Eucharistic celebration, the procession with the statue of Saint Andrew traversed the streets of the old town, accompanied by the ancient notes of the Pastorale Gallipolina. On November 30th, the day of the feast, the Pastorale returned at dawn through the streets of the historic center, while in the afternoon, bagpipe players animated the village. The day concluded with the Christmas Flavors and Music event, featuring tastings of pittule and typical Salento sweets, in an atmosphere that combined devotion, music, and conviviality.
