Feast of S. Maria Assunta – Faro Superiore

2025 Edition

The festivities in honor of S. Maria Assunta were held in Faro Superiore (Messina) from August 24 to 31, 2025, preceded on August 9 by the transfer of the statue with Holy Mass. The secular evenings, hosted in the Campetto Parrocchiale and Piazza della Chiesa, featured music and dance with the "JDance" school, the concert by The Soul Men with Pippo Portera, the concert by the "Giuseppe Verdi" Music Band directed by M° Costanzo, the theatrical performance "Sogno di una notte di mezza sbornia" by the "La Pietra d'Oro" company, the singing evening "Note sotto le stelle", "La Corrida – Dilettanti allo sbaraglio", and, on August 30, the parade and concerts of the bands from Castroreale Terme, Galati Mamertino, Larderia, and Faro Superiore.

Sunday, August 31, the solemn day, was marked by mortar fire, masses, and, at 7:00 PM, the procession of the Madonna's float through the village streets; the festival closed late at night with the fireworks display. All events were free of charge.
