Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (la Fuguredda)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, the Fuguredda, confirmed the vitality of this religious tradition in the Agrigento village of Joppolo Giancaxio. As is customary, the statue of the Madonna was carried in a procession from the small countryside chapel that houses it to the Mother Church, dedicated to Saint Francis of Paola, amidst prayers and popular songs.

The festival was part of a summer of events that the municipal administration dedicated to the theme of world peace, with religious, cultural, and community moments that involved residents and visitors. The procession, the heart of the celebration, crossed the streets of the historic center, bringing the community together around its Madonna, according to a rite handed down for generations.
