Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2025

The 2025 festivities in San Filippo del Mela (ME) in honor of the Patron Saint took place between July 14th and 16th. Piazza Fulci hosted the comedy L'arte della beffa by the Le Nuove Immagini theater association and a concert by the group Atmosfera Blu. On July 15th, in Piazza Duomo, the concert by the Neapolitan duo Audio 2 took place, preceded by the performance of Messina-born singer-songwriter Maria Carola Giardina.

July 16th, the solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, was the highlight: the reception of the reliquary of the Madonna of Tears of Syracuse, the pontifical mass celebrated by Archbishop Francesco Lomanto, the triumphal procession of the statue through the town streets, the concert by the Amatori della Musica brass band directed by maestro Davide Capone, and the final fireworks display. Throughout the evenings, the photographic exhibition Sul filo del tempo: la Madonna del Carmelo e la vita di una comunità, curated by Salvatore Cambria, was open to the public.

July 16 — Solemnity

• Afternoon: Exit of the statue and town procession
