Edition 2025 — Feast of Our Lady of Carmel
On September 2nd and 3rd, 2025, Villa Baldassarri, a hamlet of Guagnano in the province of Lecce, celebrated its patron saint with the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The two days were entirely dedicated to religious celebrations: holy masses at the Church of Santa Maria del Monte Carmelo and the solemn procession of the Virgin's statue through the decorated streets of the village, accompanied by the faithful and a brass band concert.
The patronal feast, rooted for over two centuries in the local tradition, inaugurated the grand festive weekend of early September, preceding by a few days the 44th Pork Festival, a historic gastronomic event of Salento scheduled for September 5th and 6th. Devotion, illuminations, and conviviality once again confirmed the deep bond between the community and its Our Lady of Carmel.
