Edition 2025 — Feast of Maria SS.ma del Castello

In 2025, Formicola experienced the Feast of Maria SS.ma del Castello with great participation. From July 2nd, the statue of the Virgin was transferred from the Sanctuary to the Church of the Holy Spirit, where it remained for veneration throughout the summer with daily Rosary, Novena, and Holy Mass. The solemn feast on August 3rd featured celebrations presided over by Bishop Msgr. Giacomo Cirulli and the procession through the town, before the icon returned to the Sanctuary on August 15th.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS.ma del Castello confirmed the strong bond between the community of Formicola, in the Caserta area, and its patron saint. Starting from July 25th, the Holy Rosary, the Novena, and Holy Mass were held every evening at 6:30 PM in the Church of the Holy Spirit. On August 3rd, the solemn feast saw a succession of Eucharistic celebrations, with Fr. Raffaele Caso at 9:00 AM, Msgr. Alfonso Caso at 11:00 AM, and Bishop Msgr. Giacomo Cirulli at 7:00 PM, followed by the procession led by Fr. Davide Russo. As per the Formicola tradition, the cycle closed on August 15th with the return of the statue to the Sanctuary of the Castle, on Monte Maggiore.
