Feast of Maria SS. della Provvidenza

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS. della Provvidenza took place in Fantina, a hamlet of Fondachelli-Fantina (Metropolitan City of Messina), in keeping with the Marian tradition of September 8th. As every year, the wooden statue of the Madonna, adorned with gold offered by the faithful, was led in procession along the small streets of the town, followed by a devoted crowd. The celebrations were concentrated around the parish church of Santa Maria della Provvidenza, in Piazza dei Garibaldini, the religious and symbolic heart of the community. The festival confirmed the strong bond between the inhabitants of Fantina and their patron saint, as well as the popular traditions of this Sicilian hinterland village.
