Feast of Maria SS. del Soccorso (Patronal Festival)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS. del Soccorso took place in Castellammare del Golfo (province of Trapani) from August 19th to 21st, confirming the traditional patronal calendar. On August 19th, the evocative sea procession was held: the statue of the Madonna, carried by sailors through the village, was hoisted onto a boat and led along the gulf, accompanied by dozens of boats of the faithful and fishermen along a route lit by thousands of candles, with fountains and fireworks.

During the three days, the historical re-enactment of the 1718 vision was staged, while on August 21st, the land procession departed from the Mother Church, traveling through the main streets of the town, with the faithful reciting and singing the Rosary in the Castellammarese dialect. The festivities concluded with the return of the statue to the Mother Church amidst fireworks displays.
