Feast of Blessed Giacomo Illirico

The 2025 edition followed the traditional pattern of the Bitetto patronal feast. On April 26, the eve, the Portrait of the Blessed kept in the Cathedral was carried in procession through the town streets. On April 27, the day of the feast, Holy Masses were held at the Sanctuary from the early morning, culminating in the solemn procession of the urn with the Blessed's finger relic, which crossed the main city streets until reaching the Cathedral of San Michele Arcangelo after about two hours. On April 28, in the evening, the suggestive candlelight procession escorted the relic back to the Sanctuary, closing the festivities in the spirit of Bitetto's popular devotion.
