Edition 2025 — Assunta Feast

The 2025 edition of the Feast in honor of Maria SS. Assunta in Cielo took place in Cancello ed Arnone from August 14th to 16th. Three days of faith and celebration featuring solemn masses celebrated by Father Rocco Noviello, the triduum, illuminations, the "Città di Vitulazio" band, the solemn "Sciuta Arnonese" procession, and, as a grand finale, the concert of singer-songwriter Gigi Finizio in front of a crowded square, followed by a midnight fireworks display.

The 2025 edition

From August 14th to 16th, 2025, Cancello ed Arnone experienced three days dedicated to the devotion of Maria SS. Assunta in Cielo and popular celebration. The religious ceremonies, led by the parish priest Father Rocco Noviello, marked the occasion with solemn masses, hymns to the Virgin, and the well-attended procession of the statue of the Assumption.

Main highlights

  • Thursday, August 14th: morning fireworks, "Città di Vitulazio" band parade, evening solemn mass, lighting of illuminations, and live music.
  • Friday, August 15th (Ferragosto): holy masses throughout the day and, in the evening, the solemn "La Sciuta Arnonese" procession with the statue carried by young bearers, followed by a pyrotechnic-musical show.
  • Saturday, August 16th: closing the festivities, the concert of Neapolitan singer-songwriter Gigi Finizio in the square and the grand midnight fireworks.

The feast attracted hundreds of people, confirming itself as the most heartfelt summer appointment for the Basso Volturno community.

Programme

Thursday, August 14th: 7:30 AM morning fireworks; 6:30 PM "Città di Vitulazio" band parade; 7:00 PM solemn mass celebrated by Father Rocco Noviello; 8:00 PM lighting of illuminations followed by live music. Friday, August 15th: Holy masses in the morning and at 7:00 PM; 8:00 PM solemn "La Sciuta Arnonese" procession with the statue of the Assumption carried by bearers; late evening pyrotechnic-musical show. Saturday, August 16th: evening holy masses; in the evening, Gigi Finizio concert in the square; at midnight, grand finale of fireworks.
