Edition 2025 — Fanove of Palo del Colle

In 2025, the Fanove once again lit up Palo del Colle on January 17th, the feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot. Over twenty bonfires were lit across the squares and streets of the town starting in the evening, with the blessing of the animals on the churchyard of the Mother Church in Piazza della Minerva. The event, which coincides with the start of the Carnival period, confirmed strong popular participation, blending devotion, fire, and traditional dishes like kniadd.

The 2025 edition of the Fanove of Saint Anthony the Abbot took place on January 17th in Palo del Colle, in the Metropolitan City of Bari. As per tradition, over twenty bonfires illuminated the squares and streets of the center, with lighting starting in the evening and the blessing of the animals in Piazza della Minerva. The festival, which also marks the symbolic beginning of Carnival, combined faith, rural memory, and conviviality, with tastings of kniadd legumes and the flavors of local cuisine around the fire.
