Edition 2025 — Fanoje of Saint Joseph

In 2025, on March 19th, Rignano Garganico renewed the rite of the Fanoje of Saint Joseph. The village lit up with traditional devotional bonfires in the historic center, preceded by Holy Mass in the Mother Church and a procession. Around the fire, the community gathered for the usual evening of folk songs, traditional dishes, and Gargano wine, confirming the vitality of an identity festival passed down from generation to generation.

The 2025 edition of the Fanoje of Saint Joseph was held on March 19th in Rignano Garganico, following the centuries-old tradition of the Gargano devotional bonfires. In the preceding weeks, volunteers and local associations collected wood to set up the Fanoje in various points of the historic center. The evening combined the religious moment — Holy Mass in the Mother Church and the procession — with the popular one, featuring the lighting of the fires, dialect music, the flavors of Gargano cuisine, and conviviality around the embers. A celebration that, every year, strengthens the bonds of the Rignano Garganico community, in the province of Foggia.
