The fair of the Mills Area between faith, gastronomy and tradition
In Santa Maria del Molise (province of Isernia), between April 30th and May 2nd, the Mills Area becomes the beating heart of the community again with the Fair in honor of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles and Saints Philip and James. It is one of the most cherished events of the year, uniting faith, memory, and popular participation.
Devotion is tied to the very history of the village: the church was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1805, and the fair keeps alive a rite that blends religiosity and local identity. The event draws not only residents but also returning emigrants and visitors from neighboring towns.
Among the most anticipated parts of the festival is the gastronomic stand managed by the Pro Loco of Sant'Angelo in Grotte, where you can taste typical Molise dishes in a convivial atmosphere. The fair thus confirms the area's vocation for authentic hospitality and the valorization of its flavors.
For 2026, the Mills Area of Santa Maria del Molise will once again come alive with the traditional Fair in honor of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles and Saints Philip and James, from April 30th to May 2nd.
Alongside the religious celebrations, the event features the gastronomic stand curated by the Pro Loco of Sant'Angelo in Grotte, one of the most anticipated moments of the festival, and confirms its role as a defining event that attracts residents, emigrants, and visitors.
The detailed 2026 program, with schedules for religious services and events, will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
