Fair and Patronal Feast of Saint Vitus the Martyr

The 2025 Patronal Feast of Saint Vitus the Martyr enlivened the historic center of Tricase, in the province of Lecce, from August 8th to 11th. The celebrations were preceded by the 2nd Saint Vitus Parish Trophy and the opening of food stalls in Piazza Pisanelli, featuring the musical project Siroco by Consuelo Alfieri and Giuseppe Astore.

On August 10th, the central day, the band paraded through the city streets and the City of Lecce Band Concert, conducted by maestro Giancarlo Perrone, performed in Piazzetta Codacci-Pisanelli and Piazza Pisanelli. After the Solemn Mass presided over by Monsignor Fernando Panico and the presentation of the city keys to the patron saint by Mayor Antonio De Donno, the solemn procession crossed the center, culminating at midnight in the "burning of the Castle" with fireworks from Palazzo Gallone.

On August 11th, the "Sagra de Santu Vitu" in Piazza Pisanelli and the musical evening preceded the final pyrotechnic show "Li Fochi de Santu Vitu", closing a festival deeply rooted in Salento tradition.
