Three days of European flavors, scents, and crafts along the promenades of the Velvet Beach
Every spring, the European Market of Traveling Commerce transforms the promenades of Senigallia, in the Province of Ancona and in the heart of the Marche region, into a grand itinerary through the nations. Along the Lungomare Marconi and the Lungomare Dante Alighieri, the renowned Velvet Beach hosts an international market that, organized by national areas, presents itself as an ideal journey through countries with visually impactful displays.
The event features around 80-90 stalls, the result of careful selection focused on product quality. Exhibitors come from numerous European countries and beyond: Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Hungary, as well as non-European realities like Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, alongside Italian operators from various regions.
The product offering is balanced: about 60% is dedicated to food, 30% to non-food items, and the remaining 10% to food service. Among the stalls, you'll find street food and gastronomic specialties, beers and drinks, crafts, home goods, and wellness products, in a kaleidoscope of shapes, scents, and flavors reminiscent of atmospheres from across the continent.
More than just a fair, the European Market was conceived with a precise idea, as explained by the organizers: to bring together Italian operators and their European counterparts, fostering direct contact that is not just commercial exchange, but also human dialogue. For the public, the result is the opportunity to transform a walk along the promenade into a small trip around the world, with tastings and discoveries.
Held in early May, coinciding with initiatives related to Europe Day, the market attracts numerous visitors over its three days, supporting Senigallia's tourism appeal and local businesses. The event is organized by FIVA-Confcommercio Marche Centrali, the federation of traveling commerce operators, and has become an anticipated fixture in the spring calendar of the Marche coast.
For the 2026 edition, the European Market of Traveling Commerce returned to Senigallia from Friday, May 8 to Sunday, May 10, once again along the Lungomare Marconi and Lungomare Dante Alighieri. Organized by FIVA-Confcommercio Marche Centrali, the market reprised its format of a journey through nations, with stalls arranged by national areas.
Exhibitors from Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Ireland, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Hungary were present, alongside participants from Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, and Italian operators. The offering, divided between food (approx. 60%), non-food (30%), and food service (10%), included street food, beers and drinks, crafts, and home and wellness products, with free admission.
The market is organized by national areas, like an ideal itinerary through the participating countries. The approximately 80-90 stalls are distributed along the two promenades for the three days.
