The twenty-first edition of èStoria animated Gorizia in May 2025, confirming the festival as one of Italy's leading historical dissemination events. This edition also featured hundreds of events, including conferences, debates, book presentations, and meetings with major cultural figures, held in the festival's historic venues, from the Erodoto Tent to the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theater.

The edition was part of the initiative that led Gorizia, along with Nova Gorica, to become a European Capital of Culture, reinforcing the festival's international dimension. Alongside the program of meetings, a new edition of the èStoria Film Festival was held, the film review that complements the festival with the language of cinema.
