Estate Maurina 2025

From July 13 to September 7, 2025, San Mauro Castelverde hosted Estate Maurina, a program that intertwined music, theatre, art, sport, and popular traditions. The festival opened with a dance performance by young talents from the Rio Dance school and the Pirandello play La Giara by the Teatro Sant'Eugenio Company, followed by a concert of identity music by Vorianova.

Highlights

• "Pani, dolci e tanto altro…" (Bread, sweets, and much more) exhibition and tasting in the historic center (August 2-3)
• Documentary film "Karsa", created as part of the local PNRR project (August 9)
• "Cavalli sotto le Stelle" (Horses under the Stars) equestrian parade (August 13)
• The Notte Bianca (White Night) on August 30 with street performers, spray art, a concert by the band Sirah, a DJ set by Maurizio Gagliardo, and pani cunzatu
• Inauguration of the Hiking Network to promote natural heritage (August 31)
• 3rd Mini Slalom "Città di San Mauro Castelverde" – Concetta Cannizzaro Memorial (September 6-7)

All events, promoted by the Municipality of San Mauro Castelverde, were free to attend in the squares and locations of the historic center.

Opening on July 13 with the Rio Dance school recital and the play "La Giara" (Teatro Sant'Eugenio Company, directed by Marco Pupella). July 20: Vorianova concert. Other events included: Saint George's feast with itinerant music (July 27), primary school students' show (August 1), "Pani, dolci e tanto altro…" exhibition and tasting (August 2-3), popular theatre "L'eredità dello zio canonico" (August 4), Color Party for children with Mago Magnum (August 6), documentary film "Karsa" (August 9), "Cavalli sotto le Stelle" parade (August 13), Notte Bianca (August 30), Hiking Network inauguration (August 31), 3rd Mini Slalom Città di San Mauro Castelverde (September 6-7).
