Edition 2025 — Coturri Historical Studies Day
The 46th edition of the "Enrico Coturri" Historical Studies Day took place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Palazzo Pretorio in Buggiano Castello, with the theme "Frontier Lands: The Borders of the Valdinievole from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Era."
Proceedings opened at 9:00 AM with an introduction by Prof. Giampaolo Francesconi, followed by presentations on the historical characteristics of the Valdinievole, medieval municipal districts, border issues, archival heritage, and fortification phenomena. In the afternoon, the sessions addressed regional territorial policies, linguistic borders, and the literary and artistic history of the Valdinievole. The scientific committee was chaired by Prof. Rossano Pazzagli (University of Molise), who also provided concluding remarks. During the day, the 2024 conference proceedings, dedicated to the Dante scholar Bruno Nardi, were distributed.
