14th edition - Reading trees, planting a forest

The fourteenth edition of the Enna Book and Reading Festival took place from March 24 to 29, 2025 with the theme Reading trees, planting a forest, designed to raise community awareness about the desertification of the territory, understood in both an environmental and cultural sense.

An edition of great participation: over 10,000 children and teenagers, from 0 to 18 years old, together with their families, involved in 3 illustration and photography exhibitions, 45 authors and 41 meetings, 5 shows, 5 workshops, and 6 book presentations. Among the most evocative moments, a sand art performance based on 'The Man Who Planted Trees' by Jean Giono and the Concert for Trees by the young F.P. Neglia orchestra of Enna.

The program combined books and nature with literary trekking, planting of native species, herbariums, biodiversity alphabets, and an introduction to permaculture. The event, organized by the Amici della Festa del Libro association in collaboration with the Municipality of Enna and twelve schools, confirmed the festival as a reference point for culture in the center of Sicily.
