Encuentro – Tango and Latin Lands Festival

The fourth edition (2025)

The 2025 edition of Encuentro took place from August 11th to 18th in an itinerant format between the Daunia and Murgia regions. The opening evenings visited Volturino (August 11th), Minervino Murge (August 12th), Volturara Appula (August 13th), and Lucera (August 18th), featuring the street show 'Matear o Morir' by Duo Carcajada, tango shows by Sampo y La Vartuli, and the preparation of Argentine asado starting at 7:00 PM.

The heart in Biccari (August 16th-18th)

The highlight weekend was held in Biccari, in Piazza Matteotti. Saturday, August 16th: morning trekking on the Biccari mountains, tango lessons at the Adventure Park, and at 9:00 PM, the grand Gala Milonga with the Solo Tango Orchestra, master shows, TJ Fortuna Del Prete, and live painting. Sunday, August 17th: Afro-Brazilian percussion workshop with Escola de Samba Vamolà, lessons and afternoon milonga, followed by the final party with Los Locos and Latin American dances. Monday, August 18th: itinerant concert and grand finale with Escola de Samba Vamolà.

The event, with free admission, was organized by the Associazione Argentina per il Mondo APS with artistic direction by Raffaele Ferrante, the Municipality of Biccari, and the patronage of the Apulia Region and the Embassy of the Argentine Republic.

August 11th-13th and 18th — Itinerant stops (Volturino, Minervino Murge, Volturara Appula, Lucera)

• From 7:00 PM — Street show 'Matear o Morir' (Duo Carcajada)
• Tango show with live music by Sampo y La Vartuli
• Preparation of asado and Argentine specialties

Saturday, August 16th — Biccari

• 9:00 AM — Trekking on the Biccari mountains
• Afternoon — First tango lesson at the Adventure Park, street artists, food and wine trail
• 9:00 PM — Piazza Matteotti: Gala Milonga with Solo Tango Orchestra, master shows, TJ Fortuna Del Prete, live painting

Sunday, August 17th — Biccari

• Afro-Brazilian percussion workshop with Escola de Samba Vamolà
• Tango lessons and afternoon milonga
• Evening in Piazza Matteotti: tango show, Don Sampo y La Vartuli, final party with Los Locos

Monday, August 18th — Biccari

• Percussion workshop
• Itinerant concert
• Grand finale in Piazza Matteotti with Escola de Samba Vamolà
