EcoExpo 2025: the first edition

The first edition of EcoExpo was held in Melilli (SR) from May 9 to 11, 2025, coinciding with the Octave of Saint Sebastian. Promoted by the Fondazione Museo Pino Valenti (president Rosario Cutrona) with the municipal administration and the support of the Sicilian Region, the festival enlivened several squares and palaces in the historic center.

The program focused on reuse and circular economy, sustainable and accessible tourism, and the rediscovery of the territory, with conferences, artistic and culinary workshops (including papier-mâché and Melilli-style pizza), shows, and screenings. Over 50 partners and exhibitors participated, including local excellences, the ITS Fondazione Archimede, and the nature reserves of the Syracuse area. The great response from the public, families, and young people led to the immediate confirmation of the second edition for 2026.
