Edition 2025 — 'Ncrinata of Mineo

In 2025, the Easter 'Ncrinata in Mineo took place on Sunday, April 20th, Easter Day. At noon, the historic center relived the ancient 'Affruntata' ritual: the Madonna's black mantle fell amidst the sound of the band and the explosion of fireworks, and the statues of the Risen Christ and the Virgin rushed toward each other before the gathered community, with local brotherhoods acting as guardians of the tradition.

The 2025 edition of the 'Ncrinata of Mineo took place on Sunday, April 20, 2025, Easter Sunday. As every year, the ritual represented the climax of the Holy Week in Mineo: after the Holy Saturday procession with the veiled Madonna, at noon on Sunday, the historic center welcomed the encounter between the Risen Christ and the Virgin. As the mourning mantle fell, the brotherhoods revealed the faces of the statues and the crowd greeted the running of the statues with applause, accompanied by the band and fireworks, in one of the most deeply felt manifestations of popular faith in the Calatino area.
