Edition 2025 — Easter in Grotte

In 2025, the Holy Week of Grotte once again renewed its centuries-old tradition, with the costumed actors of the Associazione Gruppo dei Giudei – Andrea Infantino engaged in the dramatizations of the Passion. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, the village of Agrigento re-proposed processions, laments, and the Easter meeting between the Risen Christ and the Madonna, confirming the strong involvement of the entire community.

The 2025 edition

The 2025 Holy Week in Grotte followed the usual course, marked by the days of the Passion: the re-enactment of the entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, the scenes of Holy Thursday and Good Friday through the streets of the historic center, up to the Easter meeting on Sunday. The performances, inspired by 'Il riscatto di Adamo' by Filippo Orioles, saw the choral participation of the inhabitants, guardians of costumes, roles, and songs passed down from generation to generation, in what many describe as a 'Pasolinian Easter'.
