Due Mari Marathon

The first Due Mari Marathon (2025)

2025 marked the debut of the Due Mari Marathon in Taranto, Puglia. The event spanned four days, from November 27 to 30, with an Athlete's Village opening on Thursday the 27th, conferences and musical moments on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th, and the race scheduled for Sunday, November 30.

The race started at 9:00 AM from the Giardini Virgilio and crossed Corso Due Mari, via D'Aquino, and via Di Palma, before skirting the Arsenal, the SVAM area, and the Mar Piccolo loop as far as Parco Cimino, with a turnaround at kilometer 20 near the Histò and a return toward the finish line along the Mar Grande Naval Station. In addition to the individual marathon, the 2x21 and 4x10 relays were held, the latter serving as the Italian Firefighters Championship. The first edition was supported by the Municipality of Taranto and the Regional Council of Puglia.

Thursday, November 27: Opening of the Athlete's Village with welcome and local product tastings. Friday, November 28: Medical conference and sports insights. Saturday, November 29: Thematic conference and concert. Sunday, November 30: Start at 9:00 AM from Giardini Virgilio for the 42.195 km marathon, 2x21 relay, and 4x10 relay (Italian Firefighters Championship); pacer service from 3h15' to 6 hours, awards ceremony in the afternoon.
