Wine, music, and street art in the medieval village of Torre Cajetani
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
DiVino Borgo is the annual event that traditionally kicks off the summer, lighting up the historic center of Torre Cajetani, a medieval village perched in the heart of the Ciociaria region, in the province of Frosinone, Lazio. Organized by the cultural association Tra Sogno e Realtà, the festival blends art, culture, and tradition with local food, fine wine, and live music. The town's alleys and small squares become one large, sprawling stage, animated by street artists, open wine cellars, and performances that last late into the night.
The scenic heart of the festival is the Teofilatto Castle, the medieval fortress that dominates the village and opens its doors for extraordinary guided tours during the event. The program also involves the "Sandro Massimini" Operetta Museum, featuring exhibitions dedicated to the world of operettas, miniature theaters, and puppets—an unusual and precious cultural heritage for a town of only a few hundred inhabitants. The medieval setting, enhanced by the walls and picturesque corners of the village, is an integral part of the experience.
The food and wine soul of DiVino Borgo is found in the town's historic cellars, which have offered tasting tours at affordable prices in past editions. Previous years have seen the opening of the Cantina del Conte, the Cantina Vicolaccio, and the Cantina DiVino Borgo, serving traditional Ciociarian menus: wild boar, pasta e fagioli, arrosticini, and sandwiches, always paired with local wine, starting with Cesanese, the great native red of this corner of Lazio. It is an authentic way to discover local products directly in the caves and cellars carved beneath the village.
Music is the other pillar of the event. The 2025 edition featured the Meneguinness, one of the most well-known Irish folk bands on the national scene, while previous editions hosted popular music groups like Radici Popolari and Mascarimirì. Throughout the evening, the alleys are filled with street performers, live music, juggling, and puppet shows, along with traditional games for adults and children, and in some years, DJ sets and a final lottery with a square party.
Documented since at least 2017, when its third edition took place, the festival has grown to become, as the organizers love to say, "the event of the local summer." The Municipality of Torre Cajetani, just a stone's throw from Fiuggi and its thermal baths, finds its most vibrant showcase in DiVino Borgo: an opportunity to visit one of the most evocative villages in Ciociaria, amidst medieval history, genuine flavors, and music under the stars, all with completely free admission.
While awaiting the official announcement for the 2026 edition, DiVino Borgo remains one of the most anticipated events of the local summer. The proven format includes a festive trail through the alleys of the medieval village of Torre Cajetani, in the province of Frosinone: historic cellars open with traditional Ciociarian menus and Cesanese wine, folk concerts, juggling and puppet shows, traditional games, and guided tours of the Teofilatto Castle and the "Sandro Massimini" Operetta Museum. Dates and the program will be communicated by the organizers on the event's official channels.
Torre Cajetani can be reached by car from the A1 motorway (Anagni-Fiuggi Terme exit), continuing towards Fiuggi and then towards the town along the road to Trivigliano. The village is about 6 km from Fiuggi and about 70 km from Rome. Parking near the historic center is limited: it is advisable to arrive early.
Admission to the event is free. Tastings in the cellars require payment, with menus offered at popular prices in past editions. Guided tours of the Teofilatto Castle are organized specifically for the event.
The village is best explored on foot, through alleys and stairways: comfortable shoes are recommended. For accommodation, nearby Fiuggi offers a wide choice of hotels and spa facilities.
