Edition 2025 — Désarpa di Vertosan

In 2025, the Désarpa di Vertosan once again celebrated the descent of the herds from the alpine pastures in Saint-Nicolas. The Queens, adorned with flowers, reached the main village from the Vens and Vedun villages, accompanied by the sound of cowbells, a market of local products, and a communal lunch.

In 2025, the Désarpa di Vertosan renewed the ancient ritual of 'demonticazione' in Saint-Nicolas. The herds descended from the pastures of the Vertosan valley, passing through the villages of Vens and Vedun to the main village, led by the 'Regine' adorned with floral arrangements. The day combined the parade of animals with a market of artisanal and typical products in Fossaz Dessous, a communal lunch, and music, reaffirming the festival as an authentic moment of Aosta Valley pastoral culture.
