Edition 2025 — Peace of Caltabellotta Re-enactment

From August 29 to 31, 2025, Caltabellotta commemorated the historic Peace of 1302, the agreement that ended the War of the Sicilian Vespers. On Friday the 29th, the grand historical pageant in costume, with over a hundred participants, departed from Viale Savoia to the Cathedral; at 7:00 PM, in the Ruggero di Laurìa square, the re-enactment of the treaty signing took place, with 43 mayors from the province of Agrigento and the "Peace Builders" mayors. The following days featured shows, a living museum, and medieval banquets.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Days of Peace took place from August 29 to 31 in the historic center of Caltabellotta (Agrigento). On Friday, August 29, the grand historical pageant in costume, with over a hundred participants including ladies and knights, nobles and commoners, musicians and flag-wavers, departed from Viale Savoia to reach the Cathedral. At 7:00 PM, in the Ruggero di Laurìa square, the re-enactment of the signing of the 1302 peace treaty was held, with the participation of 43 mayors from the province of Agrigento and the "Peace Builders" mayors, to send a strong message of unity.

The program included a living museum in the Conte Luna square, performances by tightrope walkers and fire-eaters, and on August 30 and 31, the theatrical show "La Rocca delle querce" performed by local youth in the hamlet of Sant'Anna and in Piazza Marconi. To complete the days, banquets and medieval-themed menus were offered in the village restaurants. The event was organized by the Municipality of Caltabellotta together with the Pace di Caltabellotta Association, the Pro Loco, and the "I Sognattori" association.

Friday, August 29: historical pageant in costume from Viale Savoia to the Cathedral; 7:00 PM re-enactment of the treaty signing in Ruggero di Laurìa square; living museum in Conte Luna square; tightrope walker and fire-eater performances. Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31: theatrical show "La Rocca delle querce" (Sant'Anna hamlet and Piazza Marconi); banquets and medieval-themed menus in the village restaurants.
