Crocifisso del Lago Festival

A weekend of celebration in Foce Varano

The 2025 Crocifisso del Lago Festival took place on August 22 and 23 in Foce Varano, a district of Ischitella (FG), organized by the Pro Loco Uria Ischitella, the Foce Varano Festival Committee, and the Italian Naval League (Ischitella section), with the patronage of the Municipality of Ischitella.

The evening of August 22 opened the festivities with music in Piazza del Porto, while August 23 was dedicated to religious rites and the community: the band parade, Holy Mass, the procession of the Crucifix along the lake, and, closing the festival, the grand fireworks display reflected on the waters of Lake Varano.

• 17:00 — Band parade by the Azzurra municipal musical corps through the village streets
• 18:00 — Holy Mass celebrated by Father Aldo in the local church
• 19:00 — Procession of the Crucifix along the bike path toward the pier
• 19:30 — Procession toward the lake from the Foce Varano pier, honoring ancient maritime tradition
• 22:00 — Piazza del Porto: musical entertainment with Bar Italia (Italian music)
• 01:00 — Fireworks display (Chiarappa company) on Lake Varano
