County Festival – Palio of the Districts

16th County Festival (2025)

The 2025 edition, the sixteenth of the event, was held in Pitigliano from August 21 to 23, with evening entertainment from 6:00 PM until late at night. The festival celebrated the Renaissance era of the Orsini with the re-enactment "Antonio da Sangallo the Younger and the Orsini" and the Count's Mess, a dinner-show in the square.

The Palio of the Districts marked the three evenings: draw and assignment of runners on Thursday, semi-finals on Friday, and finals on Saturday evening. Along the tuff-stone alleys, jesters, acrobats, dancers, musicians, soldiers, and archers recreated the court atmosphere, while the Hosteria del Viandante and the County Market completed the festival. The organization was handled by the Polisportiva San Rocco with the Municipality of Pitigliano.
