The solidarity run for cancer research in the heart of the Monti Azzurri
Corriamo la vita is one of the most cherished events in Sant'Angelo in Pontano, a small village in the province of Macerata nestled in the landscape of the Monti Azzurri, in the Marche region. It's not just a race; it's a community gathering that brings together movement, prevention, and fundraising for cancer research. For years, the event has become a symbol of participation and closeness, attracting families, athletes, and curious visitors to the streets and hills of the area.
The heart of the day is a non-competitive walk that winds through the hilly landscape around the village, which can be completed at different paces to be accessible to everyone. Over time, the offering has expanded: alongside the classic route, a 4-kilometer family-friendly walk, designed for families and children, and a metabolic walk led by personal trainers have been introduced. The different options allow everyone to choose their way to participate, from the most trained athlete to those simply looking for a day outdoors.
The event's message is clear: movement is health, but also prevention. That's why the initiative combines the sporting aspect with moments dedicated to early diagnosis, offering free medical check-ups by healthcare professionals. The funds raised are allocated to cancer research, in collaboration with healthcare and university institutions in the Marche region. The event is organized by the association Pro-muovi...amo la vita Odv and is dedicated to the memory of Anna-Lisa Graziosi, from whom the idea of transforming grief into a concrete gesture of collective hope was born.
After the walks, Sant'Angelo in Pontano transforms into a place of great conviviality. The evening features a dinner with traditional Marche dishes open to all and live music, to share emotions, memories, and smiles. It's a time when the community comes together, toasts, and celebrates a cause that concerns everyone, in a true village spirit.
Visiting Sant'Angelo in Pontano during "Corriamo la vita" means discovering an authentic village in the Macerata hinterland, far from the usual tourist routes, and doing so for a good reason: contributing to research and prevention while having fun. Sport, nature, gastronomy, and solidarity intertwine in a single day that truly reflects the soul of this corner of the Marche.
The seventh edition of Corriamo la vita confirmed the event as one of the most attended charity gatherings in Sant'Angelo in Pontano. Alongside the solidarity walk, the 2026 edition featured a 4-kilometer family-friendly walk, open to families and children, and a metabolic walk led by personal trainer Cristina Nasini.
A major new addition this year was the free breast screenings, performed by healthcare professionals from the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria delle Marche in Ancona, reinforcing the commitment to prevention and early diagnosis. The day concluded with the distribution of race packs, an open dinner, and live music, embodying a message of collective hope and in memory of Anna-Lisa Graziosi.
