Corpus Domini - Sawdust Carpet Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sawdust Carpet of Castrignano del Capo (Province of Lecce) focused on the Tree of Life. During the night between Saturday and Sunday, the town's volunteers and families laid out a carpet approximately 70 meters long and 6 meters wide along Via San Giacomo, composed entirely of hand-dyed, sun-dried sawdust.

As per tradition, the ephemeral work welcomed the Corpus Domini procession, which departed from the church after the solemn Holy Mass and concluded with the Eucharistic blessing. The event, promoted by the Associazione Tappeti di Segatura with the Parrocchia San Michele Arcangelo, confirmed the vitality of a tradition that attracts the faithful and visitors to the heart of Capo di Leuca every year.
