Corpus Domini Festival

In June 2025, the village of Capizzi (province of Messina) celebrated the Corpus Domini Festival with the usual participation of the local community. The day began with a solemn mass at the Mother Church dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Bari, followed by the procession of the Blessed Sacrament.

The consecrated host, enclosed in a monstrance, was carried in procession along the streets of the historic center, where altars adorned with wildflowers, roses, and broom had been set up. Confraternities paraded in festive attire, while children showered petals as the Blessed Sacrament passed, and tablecloths and drapes hung from the balconies, in an atmosphere of light, color, and deep popular devotion.
