City of Nardò Award 2025: a night of excellence
On Friday, July 25, 2025, at 9:30 PM, Piazza Salandra hosted the 2025 edition of the City of Nardò Award, promoted by the municipal administration led by Mayor Pippi Mellone with the Councilor for Commerce and Entertainment, Lelè Manieri. The evening, with free admission, was hosted by Manuela Sparapano and featured singer-songwriter Sergio Caputo as the guest of honor, who performed a live musical set.
The awardees for this edition included Attilio De Razza, Francesco Libetta, Egidio Russo (known as Mago Heldin), Silvia Leuzzi, William Greco, Spiridione Povia, Giuseppe Bonsegna, Enzo Spano, Giovanna Mirenda, Enrica Macorano, and Regina Barone. A special award was given to Cosimo Durante, president of GAL Terra d'Arneo, for his commitment to the entire Salento region, while a memorial recognition was awarded to the family of journalist Mario Nanni.
The ceremony confirmed the award's vocation: to tell the story of the value of roots and honor those who, in the most diverse fields, keep the name of Nardò and Salento high.
