Pop culture invades the walled city

Once a year, in April, Cittadella — in the province of Padua — opens its medieval gates to the world of pop culture with Cittadella Comix, the festival dedicated to comics, cosplay, games, and nerd culture. The historic walled center, with its famous elliptical circuit and 32 towers, serves as the backdrop for a day of colors and costumes for enthusiasts from all over the Veneto and beyond.

Festival Areas

The event is divided into several thematic areas that animate Piazza Luigi Pierobon and the streets of the center:

• Cosplay Area: Cosplay competitions, photoshoots, performances, and meet-and-greets with cosplayers who bring to life iconic characters from comics, anime, video games, and cinema.
• Expo Area: A large themed exhibition-market, with stands selling comics, gadgets, illustrations, action figures, original works, and collectibles.
• Games Area: Board games, role-playing games, demos, and free play spaces for enthusiasts and the curious.
• Main Stage: In Piazza Pierobon, the pulsating heart of the event, performances and shows take place throughout the day.
