Cinematica Festival - Immagine in Movimento

The 12th edition of the Cinematica Festival was held in Ancona from October 23 to 26, 2025, receiving the EFFE Label from the European Festival Association for the third time. After eleven years characterized by specific themes, the 2025 edition returned to the heart of the festival: the vital relationship between image and movement, between body and technology.

The program featured a kaleidoscope of visual, film, and performing arts: shows, installations, focus sessions, and round tables, a kids&teen section dedicated to video games and making, and an extensive section on virtual reality and video dance. Among the highlights were the regional premiere of 'Orfeo', the debut feature film by visual artist Virgilio Villoresi shot on 16mm film using artisanal animation techniques, and the immersive and interactive performance 'Siderea', with real-time artificial intelligence-generated visuals.
