Cianciana Holy Week

The 2025 edition of the Cianciana Holy Week unfolded throughout the entire week, following the usual calendar of celebrations. Palm Sunday saw the symbolic entry of Jesus into the town on a donkey and the blessing of palms and olive branches. In the following days, costume parades along the main street, the representation of the Last Supper, and the flagellation took place, leading up to Good Friday with the Living Stations of the Cross, the crucifixion, and the procession of the Dead Christ.

Promoted by the Associazione Settimana Santa Cianciana APS, the only Sicilian entity belonging to Europassione per l'Italia, the event involved hundreds of actors in period costumes, confirming the strong bond of the Cianciana community, in the province of Agrigento, with its religious and cultural tradition.
