Christmas on the Hill 2025

In December 2025, Christmas on the Hill brought music, faith, and tradition back to the ancient heart of Agrigento. The Advent evenings were marked by novenas in the streets and courtyards of the historic center, while the Cathedral of San Gerlando and the Diocesan Museum (MuDiA) hosted concerts, guided tours, and moments of spirituality.

The festival was part of the wider Christmas program in Agrigento, which in 2025 saw Christmas markets enlivening Piazza Cavour, Villa Bonfiglio, and Porta di Ponte, the traveling performances of the Vincenzo Bellini band along Via Atenea, and numerous nativity scenes and activities spread throughout the historic center. Between the Cathedral, the museum, and the streets of the hill, the Agrigento Christmas confirmed its vocation to unite religious tradition, culture, and hospitality.

Following the documented editions, the program of Christmas on the Hill is structured around several recurring events in the historic center of Agrigento:

• Christmas novenas — every evening in the days leading up to Christmas, in the streets and courtyards of the historic center (Largo S. Antonio, Cortile S. Martino, Salita Seminario, and other places in the Rabato), animated by popular associations.
• Sacred and Christmas music concerts in the Cathedral of San Gerlando.
• Trails and guided tours of the Diocesan Museum (MuDiA) and its garden, with exchange of greetings and Christmas music.
• Christmas Vigil and Mass in the Cathedral.
• Activities and workshops for children at the Diocesan Museum for the Epiphany.
