Christmas in the Village 2025 in Castro

The 2025 edition of Christmas in the Village transformed the historic center of Castro into an enchanted village, with a calendar of events spread between December and the beginning of January. The event, organized by the Municipality of Castro, combined markets, shows, and popular traditions, involving the entire town thanks to the "Adopt an Alley" project for the decorative lighting of the streets.

The festival spanned the holidays, animating the alleys of the old village, between the Aragonese Castle and the small squares overlooking the sea, confirming itself as one of the most evocative Christmas events in the province of Lecce.

Sunday, December 7 — Let's Light Up Christmas

• 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM — "Zarathustra" artisan market through the alleys of the historic center
• Fire shows and clowning with street performers
• Street food area with local specialties
• 5:00 PM — Lighting of the alleys and Christmas lights
• 5:30 PM — Performance of the Pastorale

Other holiday events

• December 13 — Saint Lucy for children with the toy fair
• December 14 — Arrival of Santa Claus on a motorcycle
• December 21 and 26 — Christmas activities in the village
• January 6 — Epiphany appointment

Throughout the holidays, exhibitions of artistic nativity scenes were set up in iconic locations of the village, including the Aragonese Castle.
